A regular nail clipper works better – Maybe I just don’t know how to use it properly, but I found that while this makes trimming the baby nails easier, the angle at which you file off the nails matters. I primarily bought it because my baby was scratching the heck out of his ears and face, but he could not keep still enough for me to cut his nails the old fashion way. After using it for the first time, I realized that the short nails did not prevent him from drawing blood scratching himself because the angle at which I filed his nails almost made the nails chisel-like. Also, it’s hard to get to file off the ends. I ended up going back to using regular baby nail clippers.

I solved that by telling her to do her dad’s nails. At which she was delighted. She then let him do it, but she grabbed it from him and began to do her own nails. Of course it is a winner!
