Great device, lasts for years – Amazon tells me that I’ve been a customer since 2001, and I can’t remember writing more than 2-3 reviews. This is one of those few purchases that I would want to write about.

Amazing! No loop! – I have struggled to find a sound machine that I couldn’t pick up on the obvious loop. I was using Homedics SoundSleep White Noise Sound Machine but the white noise loop was literally 4 seconds. My brain would instantly pick up on it and that’s all I could hear. Not this sound machine. I don’t hear a loop which means it’s most likely more than one minute of record sound. The LectroFan is just a nice constant white noise with no other sounds. Perfect. My daughter and I went through all of the white noise and fan settings until we found one that we liked. It was not hard to find one. Bottom line is if you are the kind of person that can easily pick up on the loops in other sound machines and don’t like it… Give this LectroFan a try.

The first sleep machine I actually like! – I am a super light sleeper and can hear everything so even very low sounds wake me up. Someone opening a door as gently as possible, whispering, someone opening some kind of packaging, even someone walking down hall on concrete floors with no shoes. I’ve tried other sleep machines and I eventually just turn off because they don’t help me sleep but keep me awake or wake me up whenever the sound loops. I even have an air purifier in my room that has pink noise, yeah it’s a thing, to help you sleep. My air purifier doesn’t bother me but it doesn’t help my sleep either.

It really is as good as the reviews say – I live in a ground floor apartment underneath some very, very creaky floorboards coupled with some very heavy-footed people on the 2nd floor. When they walk around their bedroom I hear not only their footsteps very loudly, but the knocking and creaking of the floorboards. Before this machine arrived, I was sleeping with ear protection headphones I use at the shooting range. They worked perfectly to drown out the noise, but were not the most comfortable to sleep with. And then this little machine came and changed the whole game. I was dubious that mere sound from this little machine could mask the loud noises from above. I was never so happy to be proven wrong!

The best white noise machine – I have three! – I have purchased THREE lectro fans all of which have lasted the whole time I have had them, 4-5 years, and I constantly have them running. They are amazing for sleep, travel, apartment noise cancelling and background white noise. There are several fan options, plenty of volume levels and it’s reliable. The ONLY issue I have ever had was after two years the cord started to fray on one of them so I instantly bought I new one. It was my fault for how i stored it while traveling BUT now I got the travel case so no more problems!
