Worked brilliantly when I had the Vid – Took this with me on vacation and very glad I did. Out of 4 of us, 2 got the Vid. I was able to monitor everyone, including myself, without having to touch. And when I needed a more accurate reading, the in-ear function worked very well.

Quality with a Couple Issues – This thermometer seems to be fairly accurate. I got this for the No-Contact feature. There was some confusion because the Amazon listing states you need to have the thermometer within 5 inches to obtain a reading; however, the instruction booklet states within 5 millimeters (which is less than 1/4 inch, which basically eliminates the ‘no-contact’ selling point). Tried a few distances and I have found that within 2 inches seems to work.

Super easy to use and LOVE that there’s two different methods! – This is an amazing infrared thermometer! There are two different methods for taking temperatures, the forehead and in the ear. There’s wayyy too much info out there about which way is more accurate, but the overall consensus (and my gut) makes me feel that the ear is the way to go. Not that the forehead is lacking, it does a great job with both, but there’s always a slight difference in the readings you get in the ear and those from the forehead.

misleading product info in description – The product description on Amazon says FDA approved. The slip inside the box says Guangdong Food and Drug Administration Equipment Manufacturing Approval. Not what the product description implies. I would have still kept it except I cannot get it to work. I cleaned the tip as instructed.
